The Job

mk Solutions Inc., is an innovative company that specializes in providing library solutions including complete RFID systems, automated materials handling equipment, and book dispensing units to the library market. We are currently seeking a full time Service Technician to join our team as we expand in the US and Canadian market who would be responsible for providing outstanding customer service as well as technical support for our products including automated materials handling products and RFID solutions for libraries.

Our ideal candidate will be organized, ambitious and self-motivated. We are looking for an experienced team player that is willing to work in coordination with our project management and sales staff to reach our strategic goals. Candidates that apply should have strong administrative and communication skills, attention to detail and enthusiasm to succeed.

Responsibilities

Your Responsibilities

  • Provide installation, maintenance and service of all mk Solutions products for library customers in the US and Canada with backup from our German based engineering and manufacturing group
  • Respond to customer technical questions and issues via email, phone or site visits
  • Ensure reported issues are resolved quickly while answering and logging customer calls,
  • and communicating in a timely manner with customers to resolve inquiries or problems
  • Installs, operates, maintains, repairs and modifies automated products
  • Performs a variety of maintenance and technical support on products such as self-checks,
  • security gates, sorting systems, and dispensers.
  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions to eliminate problems.
  • Maintains effective customer communications and relations

Requirements

Your Skills

  • Must be available 40 hours per week
  • Must be able to work independently
  • 2+ years’ experience working in a technical support environment  Ability to travel approximately 50%
  • Strong written, verbal, reporting, and organization skills
  • Experience with troubleshooting network, PC and PLC based software and electrical controls hardware
  • Basic knowledge of electro-mechanical systems required, automated materials handling familiarity helpful
  • Knowledge of tools and techniques for accessing PCs remotely for the purposes of providing technical support, and/or gathering diagnostic information. Familiarity with PC and controls networking, wired or wireless
  • Ability to prospect, build strong relationships, problem solve and think outside the box
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and tasks
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work both independently and with teammates, prioritize
  • work, complete assignments timely and maintain a professional manner in a fast-paced,
  • ever-changing environment.
  • Library market knowledge and RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) experience a plus
  • Minimum Education – Associates Degree in Technical Field, Vocational Certification or
  • equivalent experience
